UN global compact

In early 2010, Metinvest joined the UN Global Compact, a United Nations programme that has become the world’s largest corporate social responsibility initiative.

Joining the UN Global Compact means voluntarily following its principles throughout Metinvest’s operations. The compact’s 10 principles were generally recognised in the areas of human rights, labour relations, environmental protection, and the fight against corruption. Each year, we announce our results in these areas to the global community.

In 2010, Metinvest published its first biannual social report in accordance with requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative standard. The report discloses information on the main production achievements and social programmes, as well as the relationship between the Group and its partners, customers and local residents.
